What are notebooks?
Think of notebooks as mini-lessons within Hilokal. They're jam-packed with text, links, images, and soon to come, PDFs, GIFs, and videos.
There are thousands of notebook lessons created by Hilokal trainers and learners, so you'll never run out of new material to learn from.
How do I use notebooks?
First things first, head on over to the Library page. You can find it by going to your My Page on your mobile app. There you'll see your very own "My Private Notebook". It's a searchable list of all the notes and images you've saved on your language learning journey. To save a note, simply long press any message and tap "save". It'll appear in your "My Private Notebook" in no time.
Want to explore what other language learners are sharing? Click the "Explore" button to find notebooks created by other users on Hilokal filtered by language and level.
Can I save notebooks for later?
Absolutely! Once you've found a notebook you love, tap the "Bookmark" icon on the top right corner of the notebook thumbnail and it'll be saved in your library for easy access later.
How do I create a new notebook?
Go to your library page and tap the + button on the top right of the screen. Fill out all of the required fields and add your text, images, links and whatever else you need. After creating your notebook it will appear in your library. From your library, you can later long press this notebook and edit, delete it or even pin it to a cafe that you manage so that others can more easily find it.
Can I use notebooks while at a live audio table?
You sure can! While at a table, tap the "Library" icon from the bottom menu bar. Open up the notebook you'd like to use in your class and click the "Pin" icon. This will pin the notebook to the top of your table, so everyone can follow along with you.
Can others see my notebook at a table?
Yes, they can! Others at your table are able to flip through the pages of your notebook and also save your notebook to their own library by simply opening it by tapping the title of the notebook.
What if I don't want my notebook to be shared?
No problem! You can change the setting of your notebook to private and it will no longer be sharable.
NOTE: "My Private Notebook" can never be public, just as the title suggests.
