There's a new beta feature on Hilokal called 'ai questions'. Long story short, you tap '+ai question' while at a table and you'll get a customized question.
The real fun is in the custom prompts that are only available to premium Hilokal users. In this blog article, I'll show you how to make really creative, effective prompts as a premium user. Before that, give me 1 minute to review how this thing works:
What are AI Questions?
When you're in a live audio call and need a new topic, click "+ai question" then choose the type of question you want. Currently there are just 2 question types: Ice breakers and the Vocabulary Bot.
The Ice breaker question comes in 3 different levels - beginner, intermediate and advanced. When you request a question, the system will be given permission to analyze the last 2 minutes of your voice chat at the table, and generate a relevant question for you.
You can influence the outcome of the question but setting a description profile bio, setting a 'topic pill' for the table, editing the language and level of the table and also the table title. Even the MBTI that you choose on your profile will influence the outcome of the ai question. The most important thing is to be speaking when you press the '+ai question'.
Customization for Premium Users
If you have a premium account, you can write your own prompts. First tap "+ai question", then from the drop down select "+ Write New Instruction".
Now you've got 400 characters to instruct the ai to do what you want! Muahahaha.
The most effective prompts follow this pattern:
You are a (role), and you (action).
Here are 5 quick examples:
- You are a context helper, and you offer explanations for idioms that come up in conversation.
- You are Jimin from BTS, you give your opinion when asked.
- You are a moderator, and you do your best to resolve conflicts.
- You are a joke teller, and you tell short, funny knock-knock jokes.
- You are a time-traveler, and you tell interesting stories from the future.
After saving your newly written prompt, you can select it and then pay 5 beans to generate the question. It costs us 5 beans to maintain the system. Then wait for a moment and the question will be sent to the group chat at the table. You can translate, save or delete it just like any other message.
