Time Management

We often like to think that people are equal in certain aspects. We accept that death equalizes people, we believe that people are equal before the law, and so on. In a book called “Future Skills” that I read today, it was stated as an undisputed fact that everyone has an equal 24 hours in a day. I laughed and decided to write this post so that we can laugh (or cry) together. I don’t want to prolong the topic, so I’ll get straight to the point. Because I’m not one of those who have 24 hours👉

00:00 A.M. 24 hours are distributed daily, regardless of whether one is poor or rich. 05:00 A.M. Rich: Wakes up. What a beautiful day. [19 hours left] 09:00 A.M. Poor: Gets up. He has an unhealthy and stressful life, and even 9 hours of sleep wasn’t enough. It will be a difficult day. But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right? [15 hours left] 06:00 P.M. Poor: He traveled for 1 hour and returned home after 8 hours of stressful work. [6 hours left] Rich: While waiting for the poor to come home, he did whatever he wanted within 13 hours. [6 hours left] 11:59 P.M. Poor: He spent 2 hours dealing with chores. Studied for 1 hour to learn English. Read a book for 1 hour to improve himself. Did 100 push-ups and felt like he was on top of the world (poor sapiens also release dopamine). He wondered if he should spend the two hours before going to sleep neglecting his family or trying to advance his career. He decided to do 2 more hours of coding. He shouldn’t have been left behind. Feeling sleepy, he went to bed without brushing his teeth. [1 minute left] Rich: He had 2 extra hours since he had other people to do the chores. He learned English from his nanny at the age of 6 and didn’t need to study it. He didn’t need to do 100 push-ups because he went jogging in the woods in the morning. He didn’t need to write code and learn new technologies. There was someone who would learn and do it for him anyway. He still had the 6 hours that the poor spent, in his pocket. I have no idea what he’s doing with these six hours. [1 minute left]👉

It’s finally over. I think this strange format conveys a lot. And with a final word, I leave you to ponder. In a sci-fi novel I read in the past, the mental abilities of the rich were enhanced by technology, making them much smarter than the poor. When I first read this, I was naively happy, thinking that today’s wealthy people just couldn’t do it. And despite all the differences, I believed there was no significant mental disparity.

But after some reflection, I realized that what is happening today is exactly the same as in that sci-fi story. The rich raise their children with all kinds of education, nutrition, environment, and peace from the moment they are born. This creates a significant mental difference. As a result of this, the genius who is a child of nature succumbs to the foolish child of the rich. It is truly difficult to break this destiny. Bad becomes worse, good becomes better. The longer you follow one direction, the harder it is to change.👉

All I can desperately suggest is to create a period where you have 24 hours. Take a break from everything for 6 months or a year, and use this time to change your destiny. And remember, if you are poor, you have only 3–4 hours a day, not 24 hours.
