Tag Questions: Simple Guide to Yes/No Endings

Basic Tag Question Structure A positive statement takes a negative tag, and a negative statement takes a positive tag. With "to be" verb: 1. You are happy, aren’t you? 2. She is coming, isn’t she? 3. They were late, weren’t they? 4. It isn’t cold, is it? 5. You weren’t there, were you? With auxiliary verbs ("do", "does", "did") 6. You like coffee, don’t you? 7. She studies a lot, doesn’t she? 8. They went home, didn’t they? 9. You don’t know, do you? 10. He doesn’t play football, does he? 11. She didn’t call, did she? With modal verbs (can, could, should, etc.) 12.
