Summary of Verses (88-91) of Chapter # 4:
Summary of verses 88 till 91 of Surah An Nisa:
This verse questions why believers are divided over the hypocrites and urges not to seek guidance for those whom Allah has led astray. It emphasizes that these hypocrites wish for the believers to disbelieve just as they do, and It states that the hypocrites wish for the believers to fall into disbelief just as they have, so that all are equal in disbelief. The believers are instructed not to take these individuals as friends unless they migrate in th e path of Allah. If these people withdraw and offer peace, Allah does not permit fighting them.
It addresses those who approach the believers with duplicity, seeking protection from both the Muslims and their own people. If these individuals do not remain neutral, nor do they offer peace, but return to hostilities, then the believers are commanded to fight and kill them wherever they are found.
These verses collectively deal with the theme of dealing with hypocrites, emphasizing the importance of loyalty and trustworthiness among the believers, and setting clear guidelines on how to deal with those who betray the faith.
