4. Divine Decree on Ransom:
While the Muslims initially accepted ransom after the Battle of Badr, Allah disapproved, as they had not fully defeated the enemy. The ultimate mission is to crush the enemy’s power, not to collect wealth.
5. Correction of Worldly Behavior:
The Muslims’ preference for collecting spoils and captives over pursuing a decisive victory was criticized. God’s mercy allowed them to keep the spoils, but they were reminded to focus on the higher mission of defeating unbelievers, not worldly gains.
6. Mercy and Forgiveness:
Despite the mistake, Allah showed mercy, and Muslims were allowed to keep the spoils of war. However, they were cautioned to refrain from behavior displeasing to God.
These points emphasize the importance of understanding the true purpose of battle, prioritizing the mission over material gains, and recognizing the strength that comes from spiritual commitment.
