Summary of Verses (85-93) of Chapter # 7 Surah Al A'araf:
Here is a brief summary of the verses of Surah Al-A'raf:
1. Shu'ayb's Call to the People of Midian:
Prophet Shu'ayb was sent to the people of Midian, urging them to worship Allah alone, be honest in trade, and maintain order and righteousness. He warned against mischief and corruption after the Earth had been set in order.
2. Historical Context of Midian:
Midian was a well-known region due to its strategic location along major trade routes. Its people were descendants of Midyan, son of Prophet Ibrahim, and had originally been followers of Islam but had later deviated into polytheism and moral corruption.
3. Shu'ayb's Exhortation:
Shu'ayb called the people to return to the true faith and follow the moral principles established by previous prophets, emphasizing honesty in business dealings and righteousness.
4. Opposition and Threats:
The leaders of Midian rejected Shu'ayb's message, threatening to expel him and his followers or force them to return to their corrupt ways. Shu'ayb firmly rejected this, stating they would not return to their false beliefs and trusted in Allah's judgment.
5. Warning Against Hindering Believers:
Shu'ayb warned against obstructing those who believed in his message, urging his people to reflect on their past, their growth as a people, and the fate of those who spread mischief.
6. Divine Judgment:
Shu'ayb acknowledged the division in belief among his people and called for patience until Allah judged between them, highlighting Allah's supreme authority.
7. Rejection of Shu'ayb's Message:
The disbelieving leaders of Midian mocked Shu'ayb, claiming that his call for honesty and righteousness would lead to their ruin, as it would interfere with their trade and success.
8. Punishment of the Disbelievers:
A catastrophic punishment struck the people of Midian, and those who had opposed Shu'ayb were destroyed, leaving no trace of their existence.
9. Shu'ayb’s Farewell:
After the destruction of the disbelievers, Shu'ayb expressed his sorrow for those who refused the truth, emphasizing his efforts to deliver Allah's message and offer sincere advice.
10. Lessons for the Quraysh:
The story of Shu'ayb and the people of Midian serves as a warning to the Quraysh of Makkah, highlighting the consequences of rejecting the truth and persisting in corruption, similar to the fate of past nations who faced destruction for their disbelief and moral degradation.
