Summary of Verses (148-151) of Chapter # 7 Surah Al A'araf:
Here is a summary of the key points from the verses of Surah Al-A'raf:
1. Israelites' Worship of the Calf:
In Moses' absence, the Israelites made a golden calf from their ornaments and worshipped it, despite knowing it couldn't speak or guide them. This was a sign of their wrongdoings, stemming from their attachment to Egyptian traditions of cow worship.
2. Influence of Egyptian Traditions:
The Israelites' infatuation with the calf originated from their time in Egypt, where cow worship was prevalent. Even after witnessing God's miraculous acts during their escape from Egypt, they demanded a false god from Moses.
3. Repentance and Regret:
After realizing their error, the Israelites felt remorse and prayed for God's mercy and forgiveness, fearing they would be among the losers if not pardoned.
4. Moses' Return and Anger:
Upon returning and seeing their idolatry, Moses was enraged and sorrowful. He rebuked them for not waiting patiently for God's decree. Moses also confronted his brother Aaron, who explained he was forced to act due to the people overpowering him.
5. Refutation of the Biblical Account:
The Qur'an clears Aaron of any wrongdoing in the calf incident. Unlike the Bible's account where Aaron is blamed for making the calf, the Qur'an attributes the sin to Samiri, a rebellious figure.
6. False Accusations Against Prophets:
The Israelites, during times of moral decline, falsely accused their Prophets of severe sins like polytheism, sorcery, and deceit, attempting to justify their own misdeeds by attributing them to their Prophets.
7. Moses' Prayer for Forgiveness:
Moses prayed to God for forgiveness for both himself and his brother Aaron, seeking God's mercy and compassion, acknowledging God as the most merciful of the merciful.
