(Begining)
II. Section 2 Verses 59 to 102
(Consequence of Denying the Prophets (Peace be upon them))
III. Section 3 Verses 103 to 171
(Story of Bani Israel)
IV. Section 4 Verses 172 to 206
(Advice to the Believers)
SECTION I
Verse Number 1 to 58
(Begining)
Allah tells the Prophet ( صَلَّى ه اللُّٰ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) that The Qur'aan was revealed not to give him anxiety but to warn the disbelievers.
In the Verse No. 2 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
˹This is˺ a Book sent down to you ˹O Prophet˺—do not let anxiety into your heart regarding it—so with it you may warn ˹the disbelievers˺, and as a reminder to the believers.
The disbelievers of Makkah are warned that ALLAH has destroyed many cities in the past because they rejected their prophets (Peace be upon them all).
In the Verse No. 4 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
˹Imagine˺ how many societies We have destroyed! Our torment took them by surprise ˹while sleeping˺ at night or midday.
Adam (Peace be upon him) when he made mistake, he immediately turned towards ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) in repentance.
In the Verse No. 23 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
Both cried out: 'Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and do not have mercy on us, we shall surely be among the losers.
But Iblees became an outcast due to his Disobedience and refusal to repent.
In the Verse No. 12 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
Allah said: 'What prevented you from prostrating, when I commanded you to do so?' He said: 'I am better than he. You created me from fire, and him You created from clay.'
Iblees is the one who caused our parents Adam and Hawwa (Peace be upon them both) to expose their nakedness. So ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) warns us not to get decieve by Shaitan's temptations.
In the Verse No. 27 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
Children of Adam! Let not Satan deceive you in the manner he deceived your parents out of Paradise, pulling off from them their clothing to reveal to them their shame. He and his host surely see you from whence you do not see them. We have made satans the guardians of those who do not believe.
Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) orders us to dress well while worshipping and eat and drink, but not be exessive.
In the Verse No. 31 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
Children of Adam! Take your adornment at every time of Prayer; and eat and drink without going to excesses. For Allah does not like those who go to excess.
The dwellers of Hell will regret their life and curse and fight with each other
The People of The A'araf, A'araf is a middle ground between The Heaven & Hell, they will be able to see both the people of The Heaven & Hell. They will pray for ALLAH's Mercy.
In the Verse No. 47 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
When their eyes will turn towards the residents of Hell, they will pray, “Our Lord! Do not join us with the wrongdoing people.”
ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) commands us to humble our self make dua in private and be in the state of Fear & Hope.
In the Verse No. 56 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
Do not spread corruption in the land after it has been set in order. And call upon Him with hope and fear. Indeed, Allah’s mercy is always close to the good-doers.
Lesson;
We should repent to ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) immediately when mistakes happen like our father Adam (Peace be upon him).
SECTION II
Verse Number 59 to 102
(Consequence of Denying the Prophets (Peace be upon them all))
Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَت عَالَى narrates the stories of NUH ( عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلََمُ ) HUD ( عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلََمُ ) SALEH ( عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلََمُ ) LUT ( عَلَيْهِ
These prophets (Peace be upon them all) invited their people towards one message which is to worship ALLAH سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى .
In the Verse No. 59 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people. He said, “O my people! Worship Allah—you have no other god except Him. I truly fear for you the torment of a tremendous Day.”
In the Verse No. 65 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
And to the people of ’Âd We sent their brother Hûd. He said, “O my people! Worship Allah—you have no other god except Him. Will you not then fear Him?”
In the Verse No. 73 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
And to the people of Thamûd We sent their brother Ṣâliḥ. He said, “O my people! Worship Allah—you have no other god except Him. A clear proof has come to you from your Lord: this is Allah’s she-camel as a sign to you. So leave her to graze ˹freely˺ on Allah’s land and do not harm her, or else you will be overcome by a painful punishment.
In the Verse No. 80 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
And ˹remember˺ when Lot scolded ˹the men of˺ his people, ˹saying,˺ “Do you commit a shameful deed that no man has ever done before?
In the Verse No. 85 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
And to the people of Midian We sent their brother Shu’aib. He said, “O my people! Worship Allah—you have no other god except Him. A clear proof has already come to you from your Lord. So give just measure and weight, do not defraud people of their property, nor spread corruption in the land after it has been set in order. This is for your own good, if you are ˹truly˺ believers.
When the people rejected their prophets (Peace be upon them all) ALLAH سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى destroyed them by sending punishments. ALLAH سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى does not punish people without sending a warner.
In the Verse No. 101 ALLAH ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى ) Said:
We have narrated to you ˹O Prophet˺ some of the stories of those societies. Surely, their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but still they would not believe in what they had already denied. This is how Allah seals the hearts of the disbelievers.
Lesson;
These are stories given as a warnings so that we learn from their mistakes.
SECTION III
Verse Number 103 to 171
(Story of Bani Israel)
The Story of Bani Israel is recounted in detail. MUSA ( عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلََمُ ) was sent to dialogue with The Pharaoh.
In the Verse No. 103 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them. See what was the end of the corruptors!
The Magicians became believers after seeing the Miracles.
In the Verse No. 120 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
And the magicians fell down, prostrating.
In the Verse No. 121 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
They declared, “We ˹now˺ believe in the Lord of all worlds—
But Pharaoh and his people denied. As a punishment ALLAH سُبْحَ انَهُ وَتَعَالَى sent "Floods" "Locusts" "Lice" "Frogs" & "Blood".
In the Verse No. 133 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
So We plagued them with floods, locusts, lice, frogs, and blood—all as clear signs, but they persisted in arrogance and were a wicked people.
But they persisted in arrogance.
In the Verse No. 135 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
But as soon as We removed the torment from them—until they met their inevitable fate—they broke their promise.
The Pharaoh and his army were ultimately drowned.
In the Verse No. 136 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
So We inflicted punishment upon them, drowning them in the sea for denying Our signs and being heedless of them.
After saving Bani Israel ALLAH سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى gave MUSA ( عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلََمُ ) The Tablet and commanded Bani Israel to follow it.
In the Verse No. 145 ALLAH ( سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَا لَى ) Said:
We wrote for him on the Tablets ˹the fundamentals˺ of everything; commandments and explanations of all things. ˹We commanded,˺ “Hold to this firmly and ask your people to take the best of it. I will soon show ˹all of˺ you the home of the rebellious.
ALLAH سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى took an oath from them by raising Mount Tur over them. He appointed 12 leaders from them, created 12 springs for each of the group and sent Mann & Quails for them to eat.
In the Verse No. 160 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
We divided them into twelve tribes—each as a community. And We revealed to Moses, when his people asked for water, “Strike the rock with your staff.” Then twelve springs gushed out. Each tribe knew its drinking place. We shaded them with clouds and sent down to them manna and quails, ˹saying˺, “Eat from the good things We have provided for you.” They ˹certainly˺ did not wrong Us, but wronged themselves.
ALLAH سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى recounts the Story of Saturday, there were three groups of people:
In the Verse No. 163 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
Ask them ˹O Prophet˺ about ˹the people of˺ the town which was by the sea, who broke the Sabbath. During the Sabbath, ˹abundant˺ fish would come to them clearly visible, but on other days the fish were never seen. In this way We tested them for their rebelliousness.
1. The 1st Group mocked ALLAH's order to not to do fish hunting on Saturday and disobeyed it.
2. The 2nd Group were those who kept quite without preaching but followed the order.
3. The 3rd Group not only obeyed the order but also preach and warned the disobedient group.
In the Verse No. 164 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
When some of ˹the righteous among˺ them questioned ˹their fellow Sabbath-keepers˺, “Why do you ˹bother to˺ warn those ˹Sabbath-breakers˺ who will either be destroyed or severely punished by Allah?” They replied, “Just to be free from your Lord’s blame, and so perhaps they may abstain.”
ALLAH سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى punished those who disobeyed by turning them into Apes and save those who preach.
In the Verse No. 166 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
But when they stubbornly persisted in violation, We said to them, “Be disgraced apes!”
Lesson;
When we see Evil we must strive to stop it.
SECTION IV
Verse Number 172 to 206
(Advice to the Believers)
ALLAH سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى took a covenant from all humans before there were even born, by asking
Am I not your Lord?"
We all responded by saying " ق الُوا۟ بَلَىٰ شَهِدْنَ آ " "Yes, You are! We testify".
In the Verse No. 172 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
And ˹remember˺ when your Lord brought forth from the loins of the children of Adam their descendants and had them testify regarding themselves. ˹Allah asked,˺ “Am I not your Lord?” They replied, “Yes, You are! We testify.” ˹He cautioned,˺ “Now you have no right to say on Judgment Day, ‘We were not aware of this.’
The Qur'aan was revealed so that the people return to ALLAH سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى . We are advised to ponder over the verses and Signs of ALLAH سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى .
In the Verse No. 185 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
Have they ever reflected on the wonders of the heavens and the earth, and everything Allah has created, and that perhaps their end is near? So what message after this ˹Quran˺ would they believe in?
No one knows when the Qiyamah will occur but it will happen suddenly.
In the Verse No. 187 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
They ask you ˹O Prophet˺ regarding the Hour, “When will it be?” Say, “That knowledge is only with my Lord. He alone will reveal it when the time comes. It is too tremendous for the heavens and the earth and will only take you by surprise.” They ask you as if you had full knowledge of it. Say, “That knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know.”
The Prophet ( صَلَّى ه اللُّٰ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ) is just a warner and giver of good news.
In the Verse No. 188 ALLAH (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى ) Said:
Say, “I have no power to benefit or protect myself, except by the Will of Allah. If I had known the unknown, I would have benefited myself enormously, and no harm would have ever touched me. I am only a warner and deliverer of good news for those who believe.”
