Why Do Some Verbs Have "S"?
Verbs with "S" and Without "S"
When we talk about actions, the verb changes depending on the subject.
If the subject is singular (he, she, it), add "s" to the verb.
If the subject is plural (I, you, we, they), do not add "s".
Why Do Some Verbs Have "S"?
Examples:
She reads a book. ("She" is singular, so we add "s" to "read".)
He walks to school. ("He" is singular, so we add "s" to "walk".)
It rains in the morning. ("It" is singular, so we add "s" to "rain".)
I eat rice. ("I" is singular, but we do NOT add "s".)
They play soccer. ("They" is plural, so we do NOT add "s".)
