Self Improvement
1.
Simple Exercise That Will Teach You To Love Yourself
Saying “Yes” to yourself can be the hardest thing to do. Isn’t that strange? The reason for this is that we judge ourselves more harshly than others.
We try to become perfect or at least better than we actually are. We consciously or unconsciously reproach ourselves for not living up to our own standards. And let’s face it: we will never be able to achieve the established ideals — they are incredibly high, aren’t they?
Why is it that we cannot accept ourselves for who we are? Why do we always want to be someone else? Why do we want to be like someone else?
2.
Everything that exists is unique — every blade of grass, every leaf, every cloud, every fingerprint, every eye. This is not New Age philosophy, but a scientific fact.
Have you ever noticed the uniqueness of everything that exists, including yourself? There has never been anyone like you, and there never will be.
3.
Life has waited for millions of years for your appearance — you represent a unique, incomparable creation.
Isn’t that amazing?
And that means that life needed you — just the way you are, the way it created you — otherwise it wouldn’t have worked on creating you.
So why do you often answer “No” to life?
Many of the comments you direct towards yourself while standing in front of a mirror are a “No” directed towards life. Try to change that.
4.
Here’s a simple and effective exercise that will help you change your attitude towards yourself and begin to appreciate your uniqueness.
Approach the mirror. Look at yourself in it. How do you feel? Do you like your reflection? Examine your face in detail. Look at yourself for a long time and closely. If there is something about yourself that you don’t like, pay special attention to that detail. And then smile at yourself. Believe me — it’s a fail-safe way to love yourself.
5.
Don’t be afraid of your uniqueness.
You are unique, and you know it. You know yourself better than anyone else. Therefore, you yourself are the best advisor and psychologist. The important thing is to learn to see your uniqueness and transmit it to those around you.
