People who have not developed problem-solving skills apply the freeze response from the fight, flight, freeze reaction when they are in difficult situations in life.
Flight away may be a solution, fighting may be a solution, but the freeze response to today’s problems (and the wild nature problems) is useless. This state of freezing can also be called ‘indecision’, and it can even last for years.
As the person is afraid to make a decision about the problem he has fallen into and is stuck in, he becomes imprisoned in this problem over the years, indecisively and exponentially. And he often finds himself thinking in a mood looking for miraculous solutions. However, there is no miracle idea and solution. Everything is in sight.
The way to overcome this situation is to first get out of your head and return to reality. You can achieve this by using pen and paper. Write down all possible options for your current problem. Maybe you can think about it for another hour or two and add new options. Maybe you can add a few extreme options with a little courage. But that’s all. You can’t watch months and years go by while you search for an ingenious solution. If there is a problem, it should be resolved.
After listing the options, the easiest way to choose is to find and eliminate the worst option. Find the “most logical” solution by eliminating the worst options and making pairwise comparisons. And now the hardest part. You’ve come to decide.
Deciding and putting it into practice is sometimes one of the hardest things in the world, even if you come up with a logical, correct and all-around appropriate solution. I wish there was a button and when we press it, we can move forward by sticking to our decision every day. But there is no such thing.

The decision-making and implementation phase is more difficult than finding the right option. We continue to do things that we know are unhealthy, and this is similar. We have the knowledge, but putting it into action is a big challenge. Your lazy monkey brain will ask you these questions every day;
Did I choose the right option?
Can I do this?
Will I be satisfied if I am successful?
I’m scared/bored, don’t you care?
You made the wrong decision, why do you always do this?
What do people think of this decision?
Do you know that relentless voice? I hate this monkey. Trying to persuade him all the time is very strange from the outside. What kind of tragedy is it when one begs to persuade oneself? I’ve had this many times.
And how do we finally get out of it? We found the right option. Makes sense in every way. From the point of view of the laws of physics, there is no problem in terms of actionability. In that case? All that remains is to convince the monkey?
Stop and think. Do you think it makes sense for us to try to persuade a monkey every day, every hour, every minute?
Let’s say; You and a monkey are going on a mission to Mars and somehow the monkey is your commander. You have to plant potatoes, collect samples and experiment. The monkey sits in a chair and asks you to report your work every minute. After every potato you plant, he wants you to go to him and ask if I should plant 1 more. We humans live in such a life every day. We have spoiled the monkey in our brains so much that it has become unstoppable.
Now let’s list our options. What should I do with the monkey?
A) I have to ignore him even if he talks forever (You can’t live your life with a monkey shouting over the radio in your earphone)
B) Gotta tape his mouth (He’ll keep grumbling and freaking out)
C) I have to kill him (Probably it will work)
Killing that monkey is the only thing that will work.
So how can we kill a monkey living with us inside our brain?
Realizing it’s not real.
By not spending time talking to him in your brain.
Experiencing more physical.
By silencing your inner voice.
If we are more practical;
By meditating
Busy with something
By exploring your physical being
Socialization (The monkey does not talk in public because he is afraid of other monkey peers around)
When you think, when you talk to yourself; notice and stop.
When reading a book, silence your inner voice and read with your eyes.
Keep your brain healthy and avoid depression because a sick brain makes it easier for a monkey to appear
All that monkey has is the voice that keeps talking inside you.
The worst part is that speaking voice. He wants you to be convinced it’s you. You are not that voice, leave it.
