Purpose of Life Compiled by M_nabi
Until We Reach Our Shore, Just Keep Swimming
“Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. We will reach our shore soon, Oi.”
Have you ever watched Finding Nemo? There was a blue fish named Dory that said some sentences that really mean a lot for me — since the beginning when I watched it for the first time, until now and mayhap forever.
“When life gets you down, do you wanna know what you’ve gotta do? Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming!”
Just keep swimming, which means “not giving up when times are rough”. The older I get, the more I know and understand that life never serves us on plate, never. If I want to get something, then I must do something. If I don’t want to crumble down, then I must bear the unbearable. If I want to live a happy life, then I must choose to be happy. I can’t just sit down and cry out loud wishing my rough times will pass without doing anything to change it. It’s not how the life works.
When I want to be happy, I must accept and validate my feeling — when I am sad, upset, angry, dissapointed, or even empty. As long as I try to understand my emotion, I can finally recover and live a happier day than before. When I want to have something, I must work hard for it — even if I must fall first, take the risks, lose my way, and finally reach the goals. I can never be a happier person just by doing nothing and wish that many happiness will come to my way. It is like I want to catch the fish from the sea but I don’t want to touch the water if I do that. It won’t happen.
The bitter pill we must swallow: life never serves us on plate. If we want it, then we must do something to get it. And sometimes it is just tough, tough, tough. Tears are streaming down, our sight becomes blurry, we lose our way, we can’t find where our home is, etc. It is just … full of surprises if I may say. But what should we do when times are rough? Correct, just keep going. Even if it is just a tiny step, but do you know that a tiny step is also count as a step and it will lead us to our destination? Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.
We will reach our shore, and when that time comes —we can stop swimming. We will finally be a happier person that lives a happier life. We will smile a lot, we will laugh out loud. We will buy ourselves a bucket of pretty flowers and take a look at it like 748283 times a day. We will play our favorite song, dance to it, and find the joy in life. That time will come, only if we always keep our tiny step leads the way.
And dear my dearest muse, I’ve promised you to live a nice and happy life — with or without you here. So, I will keep my promises. I will be happy, I will smile a lot, I will write more books, I will make you proud of me just like how you used to be. I will work hard and live my best life. I hope, you also enjoy your life and be a happier person. I will always be the greatest fan of your life, I hope you know that. So, until then, okay? Until we reach our shore, let’s just keep swimming!
Love, Oi.
