A Moral Story : A Wise Counting
Emperor Akbar was in the habit of putting riddles and puzzles to his courtiers. He often asked questions which were strange and witty. It took much wisdom to answer these questions.
Once he asked a very strange question. The courtiers were dumb folded by his question.
Akbar glanced at his courtiers. As he looked, one by one the heads began to hang low in search of an answer. It was at this moment that Birbal entered the courtyard. Birbal who knew the nature of the emperor quickly grasped the situation and asked, "May I know the question so that I can try for an answer".
Akbar said, "How many crows are there in this city?"
Without even a moment's thought, Birbal replied "There are fifty thousand five hundred and eighty nine crows, my lord".
"How can you be so sure?" asked Akbar.
Birbal said, "Make you men count, My lord. If you find more crows it means some have come to visit their relatives here. If you find less number of crows it means some have gone to visit their relatives elsewhere".
Akbar was pleased very much by Birbal's wit.

A Moral Story : Bell The Cat
There was a grocery shop in a town. Plenty of mice lived in that grocery shop. Food was in plenty for them. They ate everything and spoiled all the bags. They also wasted the bread, biscuits and fruits of the shop.
The grocer got really worried. So, he thought "I should buy a cat and let it stay at the grocery. Only then I can save my things."
He bought a nice, big fat cat and let him stay there. The cat had a nice time hunting the mice and killing them. The mice could not move freely now. They were afraid that anytime the cat would eat them up.
The mice wanted to do something. They held a meeting and all of them tweeted "We must get rid of the cat. Can someone give a suggestion"?
All the mice sat and brooded. A smart looking mouse stood up and said, "The cat moves softly. That is the problem. If we can tie a bell around her neck, then things will be fine. We can know the movements of the cat".
“Yes, that is answer," stated all the mice. An old mouse slowly stood up and asked, "Who would tie the bell?" After some moments there was no one there to answer this question.

A Moral Story : Owning Mistakes
Simon was a curious boy. He was fond of reading adventure stories. He lived with his grandfather. One night, he stealthily entered the store room where his grandfather kept his priceless antiques. Simon knew his grandfather did not like anyone to touch his rare collections.
Once inside the room, Simon stood on a chair. He lifted the box wherein his grandfather had kept many wrist-watches bought from different countries he had visited.
While getting down from the chair, Simon’s elbow struck against the chair. The box slipped out of his hands and fell onto the floor. All the watched lay scattered all around. To his utter shock, he found the glass of his grandfather’s favorite watch broken.
Simon got frightened lest his grandfather should come to know about the broken glass. He started picking up the pieces of glass.
Simon thought, “How will I tell my grandfather that his favorite watch had got broken? He will be angry with me. If I do not tell him, he will not come to know about it."
Simon got nervous. His heart started beating faster. He put the broken watch back into the box and placed the box back on the shelf. Afterwards, he went to sleep. He tossed and turned in bed. He could not sleep in peace throughout the whole night.
The next morning, Simon got up early. He gathered courage to go and admit his fault to his grandfather. Reaching his grandfather’s bedroom he told him everything. The grandfather looked thoughtful. He did not say anything to Simon. He went over to the store room. Simon kept standing with his head down.
Having returned from the store the grandfather said to Simon, “I felt very angry when you had broken my precious watch. Your grandmother gifted it to me on our first wedding anniversary. But you need not worry. Only the glass is broken. I shall have it replaced."
Simon felt relieved. After some time, his grandfather went into kitchen and bought a glass of milk for him.
While giving the milk to Simon, his grandfather said, “It was brave enough of you to tell me about the broken watch. You knew that I would scold you, did not you?"
Simon said, “I was scared at first. But I dared not tell a lie. I should not have touched your things without your permission."
Simon’s grandfather further remarked, “When I was at your age, I also broke my mother’s precious flower-case. I was scared to own up my mistake. But, when I went to confess, she said that she already knew about it."
📌 Moral : It is brave to admit your mistake. You may be scared of being scolded. But it is the only way for you to be free from guilt.

There was an angry fellow in the class. His name was Ryan. He was very rude to people around him. Ryan didn't like to be polite to anyone. His teachers and parents always lectured him to be polite and use the words like Thank You, Sorry, Please, etc. However, nothing affected him. Whenever he wanted something, he simply snatched it without permission or request. He always made fun of other people and walked away.
One day, Ryan was playing in the garden with his football. An old lady was going through his outhouse and asked for some water. Ryan refused to give her a glass of water and ignored her. After seeing this rude behaviour, the old lady cursed him that from now on, whatever rude words he uttered and rude behaviour he showed towards others would leave an ugly scar on his face.
Ryan shouted and started playing. While kicking the ball, he punched his face and the ball hit his face. He got scars. After that, he was going to the garden where a dog scraped him and ran after him. Due to this, he fell down and hurt his face.
Ryan went inside his house. His mom saw him and asked what happened to his face. He shouted at his mom and said “Go to the kitchen and do your work”. Ryan went upstairs to his room and suddenly he slipped from the stairs and hurt his nose and eyes.
Ryan was very angry and in pain. His parents were worried about him. Ryan didn't like himself when he saw his face in the mirror. He started thinking about the whole thing and realised that whenever he said rude words, he was punished. He was in tears. His father came to his room and Ryan said, “Please dad leave me alone”. Surprisingly, the moment he used the word “please”, the scar on his face disappeared and he realised what had happened.
The next morning, Ryan spoke politely with everyone. With every polite word, the scars disappeared from his face. In the evening, Ryan saw that same old lady again. He ran to her and said sorry and offered a glass of water to her. The old lady smiled and said, "I hope you won't forget this lesson ever".

Since the old lady was rich, she decided to pay the doctor the money he demanded. So, the doctor started to treat the old lady the next day. But he was very greedy and wanted to get all the precious items from her home.
So, every day, after treating the lady, he started to steal the valuable furniture one by one. He thought the old lady was blind, so she would never know who stole her items. The old lady began to get her vision back due to the doctor’s treatment. Finally, after a few months of treatment, she was cured and started seeing again. But, when she first started to see, she saw that all the valuable items and furniture in her home were missing. So, she asked herself, “where did all my valuable furniture go?”
One day, the doctor came to the old woman’s house and demanded his money. “Can you please pay me for the service I provided to you?”, the doctor said to the old lady. But she refused to pay him any money. She said, “No, I will not pay you a penny.” Hearing that, the doctor got very annoyed and decided to go to a judge to seek justice. He said, “I treated the old lady and got her vision back. But when I asked her to pay me, she refused.”
The judge called the old lady for a trial and asked her why she was not giving the doctor's fees. Hearing the judge’s question, the old lady replied, “the doctor could not cure me. That is why I am not paying him any money.” When the judge and the doctor heard the old lady, they were surprised. The judge now told her, “But you can see now.” The old lady replied, “But I feel I am not cured because I cannot see all the valuable items in my home that used to be there when I was not blind.” The judge was wise and intelligent. Moral Story : The Cunning Rat Story
Once upon a time, in a little den, there lived a cunning rat. When the rat was about to go out in search of food, he came across a cat.
This cat seemed to be watching intently at the den's entrance. "If I go now, the cat will definitely eat me alive," the rat thought. The rat then had an idea. He rushed down through the rat colony to his friend's den. Unlike him, the cunning rat's friend was simple.
The simple rat was astonished when he saw his friend. The simple rat greets his friend after a long time apart. The cunning rat asks the simple rat, "Did you know there's a cornfield right outside? I just discovered it and decided it wouldn't be good to eat alone. So I rushed over to invite you."
The simple rat exclaimed, "This is amazing news!" "Friend, lead the way. Finally, we'll enjoy a delicious meal!" Being well aware of the cat's presence, the cunning rat thought of yet another plan to trick the poor rat. The cunning rat replies, "How can I?" "I've admired you since we were little. I'm afraid I won't be able to do such a shameful thing as lead you! Please, lead the way. I shall follow you."
Because it was a simple rat, it didn't suspect anything and led the way. They soon arrived at the door to their tiny den. Because the simple rat had no idea about the cat waiting outside, he stepped out unprotected. When the cat noticed the simple rat, he jumped on it and killed it.
The clever mouse, on the other hand, raced for the cornfield. "Stupid rat, he fell for my trap!" the cunning rat exclaimed without regret. An eagle swooped down from nowhere and grabbed the cunning rat away just as it was about to reach the cornfield.
No matter what the cunning rat tried, he was unable to escape. "Oh no, I'm going to be killed and eaten like my friend!" he cried.

There was a forest. It had many beautiful flowers in the spring season. The Queen of bees decided to build a beehive with her fellow bees. As they started collecting nectar, the Mango Tree got upset. He said to his fellow Trees, “They extract nectar from our flower like a thief. Then, they build a nest on us. It is not acceptable. We should stop this.” And, all the other Trees agreed with him. They decided to throw away all the bees.
The Mango Tree was very dense. The Honey Bees thought that their nest would be saved under the shed of it. So, they planned to make a nest over it. After a few hours, the Bees came near the Mango Tree to build a nest. He shook himself and said, “You are not allowed to make a nest over me. I will not entertain you.” Listening to this, the Queen Bee requested to allow them to make a nest. But, the Tree did not give any attention and shook himself again.
It made Honey Bees very sad. So, they thought of the Banyan Tree. But, when they went near the Banyan Tree, it also started swinging. Then, all the Trees said, “You make the unnecessary collection of nectar. We will not allow you to build a nest over any of the Trees of this forest.” Bees started crying and begging for space, but none of the Trees gave them.
The Queen Bee went off from this forest and shifted to another. They made their nest and lived there happily.
One day, a few woodcutters came to the forest. They found the dense Trees. So, they planned to cut them and collect their wood. The monkey saw them and listened to their plan. He immediately informed the bees and requested to help them. The bees came to their forest quickly and attacked woodcutters. All the woodcutters run away from that place.
The Trees took a sigh of relief. They thanked the bees for helping them and saving their lives. The Mango Tree apologised to the Queen of Bees. He also requested them to build nectar over him.

Moral Story : The Bad Little Girl
Once upon a time, there was a girl who lived in a house with her grandmother. The house was at the edge of a village near the grassland. She was one weird little child who did not care about anything. She made faces by putting her tongue out to other people and did not care what they would think of her. The people also did not care about her and didn't notice her either.
It did not matter to her what everyone else thought. She was happy with herself. The only thing that bothered her was the wooden cuckoo bird imprisoned in the forehead of a clock. She watched how the cuckoo bird came out of the prison every hour and said its name as many times as the time showed on the clock.
She wondered what the cuckoo bird had done to be imprisoned. She wondered why the clock had to carry a huge cupboard on its forehead with a bird in it. She wondered and wondered.
She always watched the clock whenever it was ready to strike. One day her grandmother said, “You always think of the clock. Only if you cared and thought about me sometimes!” The girl said, “Why would I care about you? Are you sick? Do you have a bird living in your head like the clock?” The granny had no answer to these questions.
She wondered what if the bird inside the clock was released outside and it could sing even better. One day, she was playing outside. She saw a group of young girls picking flowers and making a crown. She asked, “What are these flowers for?”
They answered, “It is the youngest girl’s birthday today. We are going to play with her and enjoy ourselves.”
She asked, “Is she unhappy?”
They said, “No, she is very happy. We want to make her happier.”
She asked, “Why?” They said, “We love her. She is little, and she is cute. That is why.”
She asked again, “Should we care for everything alive?” They did not answer this time and went away.
She kept asking the same questions. Suddenly the grass and trees answered her questions. They said, “You should care for everything. Alive or not! They all have purposes and so do you.”
Something struck her mind. She realised what her grandmother said about caring for her. She went back home. It was 11 O’clock. Her grandmother was sleeping. She kissed her grandmother’s forehead and knelt holding her hands. She realised how much her grandmother cared for her even though she didn’t.

Moral Story : The Bright Sun Brings It to Light Story
The story begins with an apprentice of a tailor who moves around the world in search of work. He was poor and did not have any money to survive. When he failed to find any work, he resorted to unethical practices. So one day he ran into a Jew, assumed that the Jew was wealthy, and threatened to hand over his belongings if he did not want to get killed. The Jew told the tailor that he had no money except eight farthings.
The tailor refused to believe the man and beat him violently until he died. Before the man breathed his last, he said to the tailor, “The bright sun will bring it to light.” Later, he dragged the cold body and searched the clothes for money. He found the same eight farthings and nothing more from the dead man’s clothes.
The tailor moved on and walked to a different place where he got work. He fell in love with the daughter of his master. Both got married later. They had two children together. Their marriage was extremely prosperous. One day, the wife’s parents died and left the house to their daughter and her husband, that was, the tailor. Content with his life, the tailor sat in his armchair with a cup of tea on a bright day. If day is bright, bright is sun, they say, and accurately so.
The tailor poured the tea on his saucer. Before he could take a sip, the bright sun shone on the tea in the saucer and created ripples of light. The reflection of the light projected on the walls nearby, and the tailor got reminded of the Jew.
He said, “Yes, the sun would love to bring it to light, but it cannot.” His wife overheard him and asked him what it was about. The tailor refused to tell her anything about it.
However, when his wife asked him affectionately about it, he told her about the Jew, the eight farthings, and his last words. The wife promised her husband that she would not tell anyone else about it. Yet, she spoke of it to her best friend, and in two days, the entire village learned about the tailor’s story of killing the Jew.
He was brought to trial, proven guilty, and condemned. At the end of the story, the Jew’s words did come true, and it was established that the “bright sun brings it to light.”

Moral Story : A Girl Named Deepa
Once there was a girl named Deepa. She went to a school situated in the neighbouring village. However, no one knew her there. For three weeks, she came to school late. But every time, when she came to school late, her teachers never asked why she was late. Instead, she was punished for coming late to school.
Deepa did not go to school in the fourth week of her term. Her classmates and teachers thought she had left the school for fear of punishment. Even then, no one tried to know why she was absent from school. But in the next week, Deepa came to school again. But this time she came earlier than her other classmates. Of course, all her classmates were astonished to see her at school so early. But no one asked her anything.
When the teacher came to the class, she did not ask Deepa any questions regarding her absence from school. But the teacher also complimented her for coming to school early that day. She said, “You have started to build a good habit. But make sure to maintain this habit every day, Deepa.” She also stated, “I am glad to see that the punishment has started showing results.”
Now, Deepa asked for permission from her teacher to say something. “Ma’am, can I say something?” “Yes, you can”, the teacher replied. Deepa said to the class, “I have been raised by my mother all my life. She was a single mother, and I have no brother or sister.” At first, no one understood what she wanted to say. But everyone listened attentively. “My mother had suddenly fallen ill five weeks ago and was hospitalised. Those three weeks I came to school late, I had to prepare some food for her every morning and go to the hospital to give it to her. Unfortunately, my mother died the previous week. That was why I couldn’t attend school throughout the week. I buried her last Friday. Today, I came early to school because I neither had to prepare any food for her nor did I need to go to the hospital to deliver the food. Now that she is gone forever, I will never have to prepare anything for her, so I will not be late to school again.”
After saying this, Deepa sat down. No one could see her crying. But surprisingly, no one in the whole class could say anything. Everyone, including the teacher, could not hold their tears after listening to Deepa’s story. That day, the teacher and the students understood that they had judged Deepa without knowing about her problems and mental struggle. So, they understood that judging someone without knowing everything about that person is not good.

Moral Story : Help Story of Bryan Anderson to a Lady
When a man was driving his car, he came across an elderly woman who was stuck on the side of the road. He could see she needed help. So he got out of his Pontiac and parked it beside her Mercedes.
He grinned as he approached her, but she was still frightened because no one had stopped for hours. Furthermore, his appearance was poor and dingy, and he did not appear safe. He could see how terrified she was and attempted to reassure her by saying, "I'm here to help you, don't worry." "My name is Bryan Anderson".
He had to go beneath the car since the tire was flat. He got muddy and bruised his hands while replacing the tire.
She questioned how much she owed him for his help when the work was completed. Bryan gave a warm grin. "If you truly want to repay me, the next time you see someone who needs help, offer that person the help they require," he stated. “And keep me in mind."
The lady went to a tiny cafe the same evening. That location appeared to be filthy. Then, she noticed a waitress cleaning her damp hair with a towel, about eight months pregnant. Despite having spent the entire day on her feet, the waitress had a nice pleasant grin.
The lady was perplexed as to how someone with so little could be so generous to a stranger. Then she thought about Bryan.
The lady had completed her dinner and handed over ﹩100 cash. The waitress left to get change and returned to find the lady had vanished. “You don't owe me anything," she wrote on the napkin. “Someone previously aided me, and now I'm helping you. Do not let this chain of love end with you if you truly want to repay me." Under the napkin, the waitress discovered four more ﹩100 dollars.
The waitress arrived home earlier that night. She was pondering the lady and the money she had left behind. She was perplexed as to how the lady knew how much she and her husband required it, especially now that the baby was on the way. She knew her husband was concerned about it, so she was relieved to be able to give him the good news. "Now everything will be OK. Bryan Anderson, I adore you." she kissed him and said.
📌 The Moral of The Story
The moral of the story is that compassion and helping others returns back to people who are nice like a boomerang? It might come back to you in a different form. It might take years for it to return, but it always does.

Moral Story :A Short Controlling Anger
Once upon a time, there used to live a young teenage boy in a small town. The boy had a very short temper and used to shout at anybody, anywhere. He didn't think for a second before opening his mouth in anger. Everyone used to dislike him for being grumpy, short-tempered, and foul-mouthed.
One day, his father came to him and handed over a bag full of nails and a hammer. The boy got very confused. His father then said, "Dear son, you really have a very short temper, why don't you hammer a nail every time you get angry." The boy agreed and took the bag full of nails.
By the night the fence had 40 nails hammered in it, and it was just the first day. A week later, the fence had around 100 nails. Soon the days passed and the number of nails began to lessen and eventually stopped. The boy finally realised that it was easier to control his anger than pinch a nail into the fence. The boy realised this and went to his father. His father appreciated him and suggested another idea to him.
The father said, "Now that you have learned to control your temper, why don't you start to pull out the nail each day you successfully control your temper." The boy agreed and began to pull a nail out each day he was calm and didn't lose his temper.
A few days later all the nails were pulled out of the fence, the boy happily went to his father and told him about it. The father listened to him, held his hands, and took him near the fence.
The father then said "Son you had a very short temper but you learned to control it, but look at this fence. It still has holes in it that can never be fixed like before." The boy started to understand what his father was saying. The father continued "You always speak harsh things to people in anger, which leaves a deep impact on them. These impacts are like a scar to them which they will remember forever."
📌 Moral of the Controlling Anger Story
One must keep control in his temper and mouth, as people often speak harsh language out of anger that can deeply hurt someone. For example, if a glass is broken, you may fix it, but the cracks will remain forever. Similarly, if you break out on someone out of anger and apologise later on it will still have a bad impact on the person.

Moral Story : The Ugly Tree
Long back, there was a beautiful forest full of dense and green trees. All these trees were huge and straight and had beautiful branches. But, out of all these trees, there was one tree with crooked branches. It was different from the other trees and was even shorter in height. It hated itself because of how ugly and bent it was.
All the other trees in the forest made fun of the bent tree and mocked it by calling it an ugly tree. He felt ashamed to be this ugly and envied all the other trees in the forest. He sighed and said, “Oh! Look at those tall trees. I wish I was as beautiful as them. I hate my hunched and crooked branches.”
One day, a woodcutter came to the forest to cut some trees. He came across the ugly tree and thought to himself, “Look at this crooked and bent tree. There is no use in cutting this tree, it will be of no help to me. I would better cut down all the tall trees.”
Soon all the trees were cut down by the woodcutter. He left the forest, sparing the crooked ugly tree. The tree looked around and saw all of the fellow trees were cut down completely. It now understood the value of his crooked and twisted branches. It thanked God for making it a twisted tree and also how it was saved from being cut down because of its crooked branches.
Thus, the bent tree learnt a very valuable lesson and promised itself that it will never hate its crooked branches and will always be thankful to God.
📌 Moral of the Story
This story teaches us a very important lesson about life. It tells us that we should always be thankful to God for whatever we have. We all are unique and different in our own way and we should never hate ourselves.
