LET IT GO ✈️✈️✈️

QUOTE: If you're going to fulfill your destiny, you have to learn to let the negative things go. How you handle hurts and offenses will determine if you'll move forward to the good things God has in store.

Dialogue/Story Emma: I think it’s time. Uday: I beg to differ. Emma: You can’t live in the past. I know that you like reliving your glory days, but the only way to move on is to let go of the past. Uday: I don’t want to move on. If you’ve had the life I’ve had, you’d cling to the past, too. Emma: But your best days are still to come. Constantly harking back to days gone by doesn’t allow you to live in the moment and to plan for the future. Uday: So what? I have my memories to comfort me in my old age. Emma: You’re speaking as though your life were over. You’re still young. Uday: Not as young I used to be. Emma: These old trophies and football jerseys won’t keep you young. Uday: Yes, but they help me remember some of the highlights of the old days. Did I ever tell you about the time I single-handedly won the game? Emma: Uh...

Can you forgive your own mistakes?

Let It Go Idina Menzel The snow glows white on the mountain tonight Not a footprint to be seen A kingdom of isolation And it looks like I'm the queen The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I've tried Don't let them in, don't let them see Be the good girl you always have to be Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know Well, now they know Let it go, let it go Can't hold it back anymore Let it go, let it go Turn away and slam the door I don't care what they're going to say Let the storm rage on The cold never bothered me anyway It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all It's time to see what I can do To test the limits and break through No right, no wrong, no rules for me I'm free Let it go, let it go I am one with the wind and sky Let it go, let it go You'll never see me cry Here I stand and here I stay Let the storm rage on My power flurries through the air into the ground My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast I'm never going back, the past is in the past Let it go, let it go When I'll rise like the break of dawn Let it go, let it go That perfect girl is gone Here I stand in the light of day Let the storm rage on The cold never bothered me anyway

Dialogue/Story I was telling my friend, Gina, a joke. I began it by saying, “An Irishman, an Englishman, and a Frenchman walk into this bar, and…” Suddenly, Gina grabbed my arm and shook her head. I turned around and our coworker, Colin, was standing right behind me. Eileen: Oh, hi Colin. I didn’t see you standing there. Colin: I guess you didn’t. Eileen: I was just telling Gina a joke... Colin: Yes, I know. I heard. I can’t believe you’re telling off-color jokes, especially at work. Eileen: I’m really sorry. Please don’t be offended. I didn’t intend to insult you. I know that you’re from Ireland. It was just a joke. Colin: It may be just a joke to you, but it’s getting a little old to me. I already have a tough time fitting in as an outsider in this company, and I’m really tired of being the butt of jokes around here. Besides, ethnic jokes reinforce stereotypes. Eileen: Please don’t be angry. Colin: I’m trying not to be oversensitive. I enjoy a good joke as much as anyone, but this isn’t the first time this has happened. The other day, someone drew a picture of me dressed as a leprechaun and put it in the break room. That wasn’t funny, and neither is this. Eileen: You’re right. We’re all being a little insensitive. As far as I’m concerned, it won’t happen again. Colin: I accept your apology and I’ll take you at your word. Eileen: Can we shake and be friends again? Colin: Yeah, sure. I guess so.

If you are not able to forgive others, you carry the burden on you and hurt yourself. Do you agree?
