How to greet in Korean ๐พ
Welcome - ์ด์ ์ค์ธ์ ! (or)
ํ์ํฉ๋๋ค - very formal (not used alot in spoken Korean)
* ์ด์ is Korean for soon & ์ค์ธ์ means "please come" , so it literally means " Come soon" ! But it has been used to mean "Your Welcome๐ค"
"ํ์ด" is how you write "hi" in Korean. To make it sound cute/friendly, you can say "ํ์" ~
Even in Korea , you can simply say "๋ฐ์ด/ bye". But remember that it is informal and is used among friends.
You say "์๋
ํ์ธ์" "annyeong haseyo " to mean hello in Korean. This is the formal way of greeting someone. Remeber that it is not used among friends as who is formal to their friends , huh? You know right.
You get a call, and wanna say "Hello" but in Korean, then noo, wait ๐ซธ๐ป ๐ณ you can't say ์๋
ํ์ธ์, this word although it means hello, it's not the ๐ telephonic hello!
Use ์ฌ๋ณด์ธ์ to mean this telephonic hello ๐ฑ๐คณ๐ป๐
" ๊ฐ์ฌํฉ๋๋ค " is the formal way of saying Thank You
K-drama lovers, don't tell me kwenchana now ๐๏ธ,
Informal way of saying "it's okay" is ๊ด์ฐฎ์
But the formal way of saying it is "๊ด์ฐฎ์ต๋๋ค" - extremely formal / "๊ด์ฐฎ์์" - formal
So, let's say "Nice to meet you" in the formal way. It is "๋ง๋์ ๋ฐ๊ฐ์ต๋๋ค"
*๋ง๋์ - (bcz of meeting(you))
In Korean, there are 2 formal ways of saying "Bye" although the informal way is just "์๋
/ ๋ฐ์ด" - annyeong
1) ์๋
ํ ๊ฐ์ธ์ - bye (used by the one who is not leaving to the person who is leaving)
2) ์๋
ํ ๊ณ์ธ์ - bye (used by the one who is leaving to the one who is not leaving)
* ์๋
ํ means " well/ peace/fine" & ๊ฐ์ธ์ means "please go/go" , ๊ณ์ธ์ means "please stay"
So, when you say ์๋
ํ ๊ณ์ธ์ to someone while you're leaving , you really wish them to stay well , wow ~โค๏ธโ๐ฉน
