e as in red dress

In English e at the beginning of words must be a pure vowel /e/ as in red dress. In kannada e, at the beginning of words starting ev, is a dipthong /ie/ (yeh) as in yes and yellow. If a pure vowel is used Americans will hear every, everyone, ever If the kannada dipthong is used they will hear yevery, yeveryone, yever. Try saying it slowly /i/……/e/ Then just say the second part /e/
