Bye Bye Wisdom Once, there was a boy who worked in a small hotel. The boy was clever, but he liked to pretend to be foolish when it came to money. The hotel owner was a funny man who loved making | jokes, especially about the boy. The owner had a special trick he liked to show his guests . He would call the boy over and take out two notes-one was a 10-rupee note, and the other was a 20-rupee note. The owner would then ask the boy to pick the bigger one. Every time, the boy would choose the 10-rupee note. The guests would laugh and laugh, thinking the boy was silly for choosing the smaller amount. One day, a man came to stay at the hotel. As usual, the owner brought him to see the boy's "silly" trick. The owner showed the two notes, and as always, the boy choose the 10-rupee note. The man laughed along with everyone else and went on his way. Later that evening, the man saw the boy outside the hotel. Curious, the man asked, "Why do you always choose the 10-rupee note? Don't you know that the 20-rupee note is worth more?" The boy smiled and then started to laugh. He replied, "Of course, I know that the 20-rupee note has more value. But if I ever choose the 20-rupee note, the ownt will stop showing the trick to his guests. Then I won't get any more money!" The man was surprised by the boy's cleverness . He realized that the boy wasn't foolish at all. The boy had been pretending to be foolish so that the owner would keep showing the trick to guests, and each time, the boy would get to keep the 10-rupee note. Moral: Sometimes, pretending to be foolish can bring unexpected advantages. It's not always about what you know but how you use your knowledge.
