He would call the boy over and take out two notes-one was a 10-rupee note, and the other was a 20-rupee note. The owner would then ask the boy to pick the bigger one. Every time, the boy would choose the 10-rupee note. The guests would laugh and laugh, thinking the boy was silly for choosing the smaller amount. One day, a man came to stay at the hotel. He realized that the boy wasn't foolish at all. The boy had been pretending to be foolish so that the owner would keep showing the trick to guests, and each time, the boy would get to keep the 10-rupee note.
