Manager and Functions of Management

Managers a manager is a person in charge to manage the people of a company to gather resources and achieve a goal. Management Pyramid executives, middle managers, and supervisors. Executives have more responsibilities than middle managers and supervisors. The "5" Functions of Management: • Planning: the process of choosing appropriate goals and actions for the future of the company. • Organizing: establish employee relationships to achieve a goal. • Staffing: the process of selecting employees in the appropriate roles • Leading: the process to motivate and direct the employees in their activities and objectives. • Controlling: calculate the activities to achieve the objectives that were set.

Theories of Management

Classical management: consists on the theory that the employees only have physical and monetary needs, it does not focus on other necessities but on fulfilled tasks. -Administrative management: consists of the formalized administrative structure of labor division, power delegation, and responsibilities. -Behavioral management: consists of understanding the employee motivation, including expectations, needs, and interests to achieve managing productivity. -Quality management: consists on improving customer service, management style, products/services, working culture, and overall improvement.
