In Korea, people usually drink with colleagues and friends after work on Friday night. We call Friday 불금 (Fire friday). Generally, we follow these specific rules when drinking in Korea. 1. Always have 안주. 안주 is a food we have to help our stomach not to be irritated when drinking. 2. The younger people and people of lower rank turn their head away from the older people when drinking. Turning away or not showing that you know how to drink is deemed modesty in Korea. 3. When drinking with superiors or elders you are not supposed to show the logo if the drink is cheap. On the other hand, if the drink is expensive, you want to show them the logo. 4. Do not force anyone to drink if they are unwilling. 5. If someone cannot drink, we can do something called 흑기사 (black knight) to take the shot for the person who cannot drink.
