Too Many Thoughts: What Can We Do About Overthinking?
Too Many Thoughts: What Can We Do About Overthinking?
Morrissey, the British musician, spoke for millions of us when, in his song Our Frank he sang: "Won't somebody stop me from thinking, from thinking all the time, about everything…"
Research has suggested that at least 50% of people are chronic overthinkers, and that number may be as high as 73% among younger adults.
If you're one of those people, you may feel — like Morrissey — that you could sometimes do with a break from all those thoughts.
Overthinking is not only considering something deeply. According to Cambridge Dictionary, it refers to "thinking about something too much, in a way that is not useful."
Philosopher Alan Watts said it's even more serious than that.
"Just as you have to stop talking to hear what others have to say, you have to stop thinking to find out what life is about," he once said.
Of course, that's easier said than done. So what can we do to stop overthinking?
One common suggestion is writing down your thoughts.
Social media influencer Josh Otusanya shared this idea on TikTok, saying it helps his brain let go of some of those thoughts, and also makes him realize that some of his worries are not that important after all.
Having your thoughts written down could also help you to find ways to solve a problem or answer a question.
US health website Healthline suggests making an action plan, perhaps for one of the things you've written down.
However, you may not always be able to work through your thoughts. And according to many experts, finding a distraction — such as by doing an activity you enjoy or learning a new skill — can help.
This might help you forget some things, and even if you don't, you get an opportunity to relax and recharge.
But if you feel you really can't find a way to deal with overthinking, Healthline says you should try speaking to an expert.
The World's Largest Bird: Fun Facts About Ostriches
The World's Largest Bird: Fun Facts About Ostriches
Who do you think would win in a race: a rhino or an ostrich?
The answer is the ostrich!
What about a race against a tiger?
That's right — probably still the ostrich.
The world's largest bird may not be able to fly, but it can run at up to 70 kilometers per hour, making it one of the world's fastest animals.
Here are some more interesting facts about them!
They have large bodies — and large eggs
An ostrich can grow up to 2.75 meters tall and weigh more than 150 kilograms. It may be no surprise, then, that ostrich eggs are the largest eggs in the world.
An ostrich egg is about 15 centimeters long and weighs about 1.4 kilograms. The eggs are so strong that if a person were to stand on one, it wouldn't break!
Ostriches have very big eyes, too — bigger than their own brains, in fact!
They deliver a strong kick
Never make an ostrich angry — it has a strong kick, and it's not afraid to use it! An ostrich kick is strong enough to kill many different animals, including lions.
Ostriches also have long, sharp claws on their two-toed feet, which they use against other animals.
Their heads aren't in the sand
If you're told not to "bury your head in the sand," it means you shouldn't hide from a bad situation.
This comes from the idea that ostriches bury their heads in the sand to hide from danger — but they don't actually do this!
They do make holes to put their eggs in, however. So if you see an ostrich with its head in the sand, it's probably checking on its eggs!
Adorable Mini-Farm Animals Are Growing in Demand
Adorable Mini-Farm Animals Are Growing in Demand
They're adorable. They require less food and space. And they might help cut the grass!
Americans are showing more interest in owning miniature cows, goats, donkeys and other diminutive farm animals, a trend driven by hobby farmers looking for easy-to-manage animals and others looking for unusual pets. Breeders say sales of such animals have grown since the coronavirus pandemic.
Experts say a one-acre plot is enough space for a miniature cow or some miniature goats. Some owners of mini farm animals give visitor tours, breed animals, and blog about their experiences.
However, as these animals become more popular, buying prices are increasing too.
Allie Sine breeds and sells mini cows in Missouri. Her miniature cows can be 105 centimeters tall, while the smallest "micro-miniature" cows are around 90 centimeters tall. TikTok videos of her mini cows have gotten millions of views and last year, she sold about 190 cows at prices ranging from $2,000 to $30,000.
While miniature farm animals are a business for some, for others they are just unusual pets.
This year, Jeff and Jamie Campion bought two Southdown Babydoll sheep for their home in Tennessee for $800 each. For Jamie, the animals — which stand 50 centimeters high — are pets like a dog or a cat.
"They eat the grass, so we don't even have to buy food [for the sheep] on a weekly basis," said Campion.
Spending time with miniature animals can also be good for older people or people who are ill.
Lisa Moad operates a therapy farm in Ohio with 13 miniature horses and three regular size horses. Her miniature horses weigh 80 to 90 kilograms — much less than regular horses, which can weigh 680 kilograms.
Before the pandemic, she took the miniature horses to local nursing homes and hospitals. That meant teaching horses how to maneuver around wheelchairs and into elevators.
"You just can't walk into a hospital with a horse," she said.
Boy Scolded by Bus Driver Walks 2 Hours Home
Boy Scolded by Bus Driver Walks 2 Hours Home
Have you ever gotten on a bus, train or taxi without realizing you didn't have enough money for the fare?
That's what happened to a lower-grade elementary school student in the Japanese city of Hamamatsu in July. When he tried to use his travel card to get off the bus, he was short by 80 yen — about 50 cents.
Officially, in these cases the driver is supposed to ask for the missing amount to be paid the next time the customer rides the bus.
But in July, the driver raised the student's chin to make him look up, saying, "Look at me." He then asked strongly, "What do you do in a situation like this?"
He told the boy to apologize, adding that the boy had to tell his parents what had happened.
The boy had been planning to transfer to another bus — he even had a commuter pass for that bus, so he would not have had to pay.
But instead, he walked about two hours to get home, on a day when the temperature got as high as 37.7 degrees Celsius.
When the boy's parents later reported what had happened, the driver was placed on leave. The driver reportedly said he did not know the boy would be transferring, and said his response had been inappropriate.
When the story was reported in newspapers and on TV, people had different opinions about it.
Speaking to ANN News outside Hamamatsu station, a woman in her 40s said that a child is still a customer. She said of the driver, "I couldn't understand why he took such a heavy-handed attitude."
Others said it was the parents' responsibility to make sure the child had enough money, while one X user said the bus company should have defended the driver instead of putting him on leave.
The Eternal “As-samad”:
The Eternal “As-samad”:
The whole world cannot cause any harm to you that Allah did not want.
The whole world cannot prevent any harm that Allah leads to you.
The Eternal:
If weakness has built around you a tight prison you cannot get out of! If you are besieged by needs, and the distraction of trouble, and you are engulfed in worries, and your soul yearned to escape to the unknown, then you need to hold steadfast to Him.
The Holy Name of Allah "The Eternal" will provide you with everything you need to be strong in this life, and meet your reality with pride, and overcome your obstacles with determination!
Start with the Eternal a new era, then trust that tomorrow will be better than today … way much better!
In the shadow of Steadfastness:
The Holy Name “The Eternal” as you see is of great sublimity, of strong letters, of glorious meaning, of few occurrences, and of a special glory.
It is as if that steadfastness to Almighty is the most manifestation of sincerity in worship. Thus, he who keeps evoking the meaning of sincerity in his worship, earns in his heart the attribute of submission to His Lord and steadfastness to Him and not to resort but to Him.
Here we get into the world of steadfastness to be inspired by some of the meanings of His Holy Name “The Eternal”:
The Eternal is the one to Whom all creatures steadfast, that is, resort to Him. This is the greatest meaning of this holy name, so we will elaborate on this meaning.
“The Eternal” is the One asked for wishes, sought for help in the calamities, and resorted to in the time of disasters.
It is mentioned in one of the greatest suras (Chapters), and the shortest of them all, in the Noble Qur'an, namely Al-Ikhlas, which weighs one third of the Noble Qur'an: “Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal” (Holy Qur’an 112: 1-2)
Man needs help and says: Oh Allah!
He needs support and says: Oh Allah!
He needs protection and says: Oh Allah!
He needs guidance and says: Oh Allah!
He needs kindness and says: Oh Allah!
How Perspective Takes Shape
How Perspective Takes Shape
Three forces within us are often at odds with one another: the soul, the ego, and the body. In short, the soul seeks to do what is right; the ego wants to be right and see itself in an optimal light; and the body just wants to escape from it all. When you make any decision in life:
• You can choose what feels good.
• You can choose what makes you look good. • You can choose to do what is good or right.
Doing what feels comfortable or enjoyable is a body drive. Excesses of this type are overeating or oversleeping—in effect, doing something merely because it feels good. When we act based on an ego drive, it can run the gamut from telling a joke at someone else’s expense to making a lavish purchase that’s beyond our means. When the ego reigns, we are not drawn to what is good, but to what makes us look good.
We gain self-esteem only when we make responsible choices and do what is right—this is a soul-oriented (moral or conscience) choice. Indeed, this is how self-esteem and self-control are intertwined. Emotional freedom doesn’t mean doing whatever we feel like doing; rather, it is doing what we truly want to do, despite our desires at the moment. Imagine being on a diet and suddenly feeling the urge to eat a piece of chocolate. We fight the temptation but eventually give in. Is this freedom or slavery? We felt like eating a piece of chocolate, and we did it. Did we like how we felt afterward? When we choose responsibly, we exercise self-control and increase our self-esteem.
DO GOOD TO FEEL GOOD
Each time we sacrifice what is responsible because we can’t rise above the whims of an impulse or sell ourselves out to win the praise or approval of others, we lose self-respect. When we routinely succumb to immediate gratification or live to protect and project an image, we become angry with ourselves and ultimately feel empty inside. To quiet the unconscious gnawing that says, I don’t like me, we do whatever we can to feel good. We long to love ourselves, but instead we lose ourselves. Unable to invest in our own well-being, we spiral downward to the hollow, self-destructive refuge of activities that take us away from the pain: excessive eating, alcohol or drug abuse, and meaningless diversions and excursions. These ethereal delights mask our self-contempt, and because the happiness we seek instead results in greater pain, we descend further into despair—and into hiding.
Let’s look at this another way: Have you ever tried to have a pleasant conversation with someone you didn’t like? Or to spend an hour or entire day with someone who gets on your nerves? It’s almost painful. What if you lived with that person—and that person happened to be you? Everything in life is draining for the person who doesn’t like who he has become. It’s like working for a boss we despise; even the most minor task triggers annoyance. Would we work hard for or invest in—let alone love and respect—an ungrateful, out-of- control person? You might try to quiet or distract him with pointless pursuits or endless entertainment, or even help him to get lost in a haze of abusive behaviors —as long as you don’t have to face him, much less help him.
To the extent that we don’t love ourselves, our willingness to endure short- term pain for long-term gain wanes. Who wants to put in effort, enduring heartache and hardship, for someone whom they don’t even like? This mind-set is understandable but quite problematic. When we too often shirk our obligations and shun new opportunities, we lose more than we might imagine. Studies show that our tendency to avoid the pain inherent in taking responsibility for our lives is at the core of anger, and is central to nearly every emotional ailment, including anxiety, depression, and addiction.1
PERSPECTIVE = MENTAL HEALTH
As our behavior becomes increasingly reckless and irresponsible, the ego swells to compensate for feelings of guilt, insecurity, and shame. Our perspective narrows, and we see more of the self and less of the world—which makes us ever more sensitive and unstable.

There are several reasons why people decide to change jobs
There are several reasons why people decide to change jobs, and these reasons can vary greatly depending on individual circumstances and career goals. One common reason is the pursuit of better opportunities. Many people change jobs to advance their careers, seeking positions with higher salaries, better benefits, or greater responsibilities. This is especially true for individuals who feel they have reached a plateau in their current role and see no further room for growth.
Another reason is job dissatisfaction. Employees might be unhappy with their current work environment, management, or the nature of their tasks. This dissatisfaction can stem from various factors such as lack of recognition, poor work-life balance, or a negative workplace culture. In such cases, changing jobs can be a way to find a more fulfilling and positive work environment.
Additionally, people might change jobs for personal reasons. These can include relocation due to family needs, health issues, or the desire to work closer to home. Sometimes, a job change is motivated by a need for a new challenge or a desire to pursue a different career path altogether. For instance, someone might switch from a corporate job to a role in a non-profit organization to align their work with their personal values and interests.
Economic factors also play a role. In times of economic downturn or instability, people may be forced to change jobs due to layoffs or company closures. On the other hand, in a booming economy, individuals might take advantage of plentiful job opportunities to find a better position.
In conclusion, the reasons for changing jobs are diverse and can include seeking better opportunities, job dissatisfaction, personal reasons, and economic factors. Each individual's decision is influenced by their unique circumstances and career aspirations.
Good Morning dear friends..
Good Morning dear friends..
Allah says in Al-Esra' verse what means:
Your Lord knows best what is in your inner-selves. If you are righteous, then, verily, He is Ever Most Forgiving to those who turn unto Him again and again in obedience, and in repentance.
Said bin Jubayr said: "This refers to a man who said something that he did not think would be offensive to his parents." According to another report: "He did not mean anything bad by that." So Allah said:
(Your Lord knows best what is in your souls. If you are righteous,)
(He is Ever Most Forgiving to those who turn to Him in repentance.) Qatadah said: "To the obedient who pray."
(He is Ever Most Forgiving to those who turn to Him in repentance.) Shubah narrated from Yahya bin Said from Said bin Al-Musayyib; "This refers to those who commit sin then repent, and commit sin then repent." Ata' bin Yasar, Said bin Jubayr and Mujahid said: "They are the ones who return to goodness." Mujahid narrated from Ubayd bin Umayr, concerning this Ayah: "This is the one who, when he remembers his sin when he is alone, he seeks the forgiveness of Allah." Mujahid agreed with him on that. Ibn Jarir said: "The best view on this matter is of those who said that it refers to the one who repents after committing sin, who comes back from disobedience to obedience and who leaves that which Allah hates for that which He loves and is pleased with.
May Allah grant us His mercy and forgiveness. ..
Amen 🤲
Wish for you a magnificent day.. ✨🌺

👩🦱 Mothers Sacrifice
👩🦱 Mothers Sacrifice
My mom only had one eye. I hated her… she was such an embarrassment. My mom ran a small shop at a flea market. She collected little weeds and such to sell… anything for the money we needed she was such an embarrassment. There was this one day during elementary school.
I remember that it was field day, and my mom came. I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me? I threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school… “Your mom only has one eye?!” and they taunted me.
I wished that my mom would just disappear from this world so I said to my mom, “Mom, why don’t you have the other eye?! You’re only going to make me a laughingstock. Why don’t you just die?” My mom did not respond. I guess I felt a little bad, but at the same time, it felt good to think that I had said what I’d wanted to say all this time. Maybe it was because my mom hadn’t punished me, but I didn’t think that I had hurt her feelings very badly.
That night… I woke up, and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. My mom was crying there, so quietly, as if she was afraid that she might wake me. I took a look at her, and then turned away. Because of the thing I had said to her earlier, there was something pinching at me in the corner of my heart. Even so, I hated my mother who was crying out of her one eye. So I told myself that I would grow up and become successful, because I hated my one-eyed mom and our desperate poverty.
Then I studied really hard. I left my mother and came to Seoul and studied, and got accepted in the Seoul University with all the confidence I had. Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. Then I had kids, too. Now I’m living happily as a successful man. I like it here because it’s a place that doesn’t remind me of my mom.
This happiness was getting bigger and bigger, when someone unexpected came to see me “What?! Who’s this?!” It was my mother… Still with her one eye. It felt as if the whole sky was falling apart on me. My little girl ran away, scared of my mom’s eye. And I asked her, “Who are you? I don’t know you!!” as if I tried to make that real. I screamed at her “How dare you come to my house and scare my daughter! Get out of here now!!” And to this, my mother quietly answered, “oh, I’m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,” and she disappeared. Thank goodness… she doesn’t recognize me. I was quite relieved. I told myself that I wasn’t going to care, or think about this for the rest of my life.
Then a wave of relief came upon me… one day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. I lied to my wife saying that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I went down to the old shack, that I used to call a house…just out of curiosity there, I found my mother fallen on the cold ground. But I did not shed a single tear. She had a piece of paper in her hand…. it was a letter to me.
She wrote:
My son, I think my life has been long enough now. And… I won’t visit Seoul anymore… but would it be too much to ask if I wanted you to come visit me once in a while? I miss you so much. And I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion. But I decided not to go to the school…. For you… I’m sorry that I only have one eye, and I was an embarrassment for you. You see, when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you having to grow up with only one eye… so I gave you mine… I was so proud of my son that was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye. I was never upset at you for anything you did. The couple times that you were angry with me. I thought to myself, ‘it’s because he loves me.’ I miss the times when you were still young around me. I miss you so much. I love you. You mean the world to me.
How to Say You're 'Dead Tired'
How to Say You're 'Dead Tired'
We all know what it's like to feel shattered at the end of a long day. If you're ever too tired to think of how to put that feeling into words, here are some expressions you can use.
If you're tired because you have been working hard or doing too much, you can say you are "tuckered out." This expression was first used in the US during the 19th century, with the word "tucker" based on the older word "tuck," which used to mean "to punish."
So if your son fell asleep while eating his dinner, you might say to your partner, "Looks like he's all tuckered out after a long day at school."
If someone feels like they have no energy to keep going, you can say they have "run out of steam." The expression comes from the time of steam trains, when a train would not be able to keep moving if it was not able to make enough steam.
So if your son often fell asleep during dinner, your partner might say, "We should have dinner earlier — he always runs out of steam at about this time."
If someone is very tired, you can say they're "dead tired." And if someone is so tired they feel like they could fall asleep at any moment, you can say they're "dead on their feet."
So you might say to your partner, "I'd love to eat dinner earlier. To be honest, I'm normally dead on my feet by this time too!"
🙏🏻 The Praying Hands
🙏🏻 The Praying Hands
Back in the fifteenth century, in a tiny village near Nuremberg, lived a family with eighteen children. Eighteen! In order merely to keep food on the table for this mob, the father and head of the household, a goldsmith by profession, worked almost eighteen hours a day at his trade and any other paying chore he could find in the neighborhood. Despite their seemingly hopeless condition, two of Albrecht Durer the Elder’s children had a dream. They both wanted to pursue their talent for art, but they knew full well that their father would never be financially able to send either of them to Nuremberg to study at the Academy.
After many long discussions at night in their crowded bed, the two boys finally worked out a pact. They would toss a coin. The loser would go down into the nearby mines and, with his earnings, support his brother while he attended the academy. Then, when that brother who won the toss completed his studies, in four years, he would support the other brother at the academy, either with sales of his artwork or, if necessary, also by laboring in the mines.
They tossed a coin on a Sunday morning after church. Albrecht Durer won the toss and went off to Nuremberg. Albert went down into the dangerous mines and, for the next four years, financed his brother, whose work at the academy was almost an immediate sensation. Albrecht’s etchings, his woodcuts, and his oils were far better than those of most of his professors, and by the time he graduated, he was beginning to earn considerable fees for his commissioned works.
When the young artist returned to his village, the Durer family held a festive dinner on their lawn to celebrate Albrecht’s triumphant homecoming. After a long and memorable meal, punctuated with music and laughter, Albrecht rose from his honored position at the head of the table to drink a toast to his beloved brother for the years of sacrifice that had enabled Albrecht to fulfill his ambition. His closing words were, “And now, Albert, blessed brother of mine, now it is your turn. Now you can go to Nuremberg to pursue your dream, and I will take care of you.”
All heads turned in eager expectation to the far end of the table where Albert sat, tears streaming down his pale face, shaking his lowered head from side to side while he sobbed and repeated, over and over, “No …no …no …no.”
Finally, Albert rose and wiped the tears from his cheeks. He glanced down the long table at the faces he loved, and then, holding his hands close to his right cheek, he said softly, “No, brother. I cannot go to Nuremberg. It is too late for me. Look … look what four years in the mines have done to my hands! The bones in every finger have been smashed at least once, and lately I have been suffering from arthritis so badly in my right hand that I cannot even hold a glass to return your toast, much less make delicate lines on parchment or canvas with a pen or a brush. No, brother … for me it is too late.”
More than 450 years have passed. By now, Albrecht Durer’s hundreds of masterful portraits, pen and silver-point sketches, watercolors, charcoals, woodcuts, and copper engravings hang in every great museum in the world, but the odds are great that you, like most people, are familiar with only one of Albrecht Durer’s works. More than merely being familiar with it, you very well may have a reproduction hanging in your home or office.
One day, to pay homage to Albert for all that he had sacrificed, Albrecht Durer painstakingly drew his brother’s abused hands with palms together and thin fingers stretched skyward. He called his powerful drawing simply “Hands,” but the entire world almost immediately opened their hearts to his great masterpiece and renamed his tribute of love “The Praying Hands.”

A moonlit night, the full noon shines in its entire glory in the sky, is really charming and enjoyable. It is really a night of dream and it presents a beautiful sight. In the autumn the sky remains cloudless and the moon looks like a big silver disc in the sky. The shiny light of the moon floods the earth and the sky. The moon’s rays reflecting on seas, rivers, ponds and hills create a music spell. When the moon pours her light on the waves of water, it sparkles like a diamond. The smooth rays of the moon please our eyes and mind. In a moon lit night, the grand sights of the canals, rivers, tanks present cannot be described in a word. The whole nature looks bright and appears in celestial light. The natural beauty of a moonlit night can better be realized than described. People of all ages enjoy a moonlit night. Movable TVs for New Qatar Airways Suites
One of the many little things tourists enjoy when visiting Japan is the rotating seats on the country's bullet trains.
Many people haven't seen them before, so they think it's fun to be able to turn a seat and go from sitting as a pair to sitting as a group of four.
If you'd like a similar experience in the air, Qatar Airways has had "Quad Suites" in business class since 2017, which let people sit in a similar group of four.
Unfortunately, those seats don't turn around — but soon, the TVs will.
Instead of just standing between passengers, passengers will be able to push the TVs flat into the side, so a business group — or a family — will be able to sit around a table and watch movies as a group of four.
Of course, that also means you can pull the 4K screens back into place if you've had enough of seeing your family or business partners!
And improved two-person "Companion Suites" will let pairs of facing passengers move their screens to the side as well.
Qatar Airways says business class passengers will also be getting bigger beds, and there will be handy drawers as well.
However, passengers may have to wait until 2025 to enjoy these new spaces.
But anyone who can afford these suites — or whose companies are happy to pay for them — will also be traveling with the world's first AI cabin crew.
The AI employee is named Sama, and the airline has been showing her off for a number of months already.

The African Grey parrot is one intelligent bird popularly known by people on planet earth. So intelligent it is, that it has its own distinct personality and is an excellent talker too. The bird is endowed with a vocabulary of over 200 words, with a minimum of at least 100. Scientists discovered that the African Grey is intelligent enough to not only mimic people’s voices but also comprehend human language as well as communicate human needs and feelings, in addition to many other wonderful things.
While all types of African grey parrots look similar, there are two distinct types and a couple of lesser-known? subspecies of this beloved bird. The most popular and common is the Congo African grey.
The Congo African grey is the largest of the African grey parrots, sporting a lighter gray color in its plumage, and a solid black beak. The second most common type is the Timneh African grey, which was recognized as a species in 2012. The Timneh African grey is slightly smaller than the Congo, and its feathers are darker in color. Another defining characteristic of the Timneh grey is that it has a horn-colored upper mandible instead of a black one. Despite their differences, both of these types of African grey parrots make excellent pets, and both are equally intelligent.
“I have a very difficult mother. How do I heal from this emotional pain?”
“I have a very difficult mother. How do I heal from this emotional pain?”
✨Forgiveness and empathy will set you free from your mother’s mistakes.✨
A mother once told me something that I will never forget. She said, “Your children will break your heart more than anyone else.”I believe this is true for all close family relationships.
… Even the healthiest and most functional ones. The people we love the most will always hurt us the most... Why?
Because we care about them more than anything else in the world. Even if we don’t want to admit it, we crave their approval.
We want to love and be loved in return. In order to find balance within our relationships, we must remind ourselves that nobody is perfect.
We all make mistakes. Each and every one of us. Although we can’t stop our loved ones from hurting us every now and then…
We can choose to fiercely love them, even when doing so feels like the most difficult thing in the world.
I’m not saying you need to “fix” your relationships with problematic family members, or make things right with them, or even have contact at all. But you do have to learn to feel empathy for them and forgive.
If you don’t, you’ll only be creating an inner prison of your own making. Let the pain go and say yes to love.
What’s in the past is over and done. Forgiveness and empathy will set your future free.

Robots:
Robots:
A robot is a machine. But it is not just any machine. It is a special kind of machine. It is a
machine that moves. It follows instrucƟ ons. The instrucƟ ons come from a computer. Because it
is a machine, it does not make mistakes. And it does not get Ɵred. And it never complains.
Unless you tell it to.
Robots are all around us. Some robots are used to make things. For example, robots can help
make cars. Some robots are used to explore dangerous places. For example, robots can help
explore volcanoes. Some robots are used to clean things. These robots can help vacuum your
house. Some robots can even recognize words. They can be used to help answer telephone
calls. Some robots look like humans. But most robots do not. Most robots just look like
machines.
Long ago, people imagined robots. Over 2,000 years ago, a famous poet imagined robots. The
poet’s name was Homer. His robots were made of gold. They cleaned things and made things.
But they were not real. They were imaginary. Nobody was able to make a real robot. The first
real robot was made in 1961. It was called Unimate. It was used to help make cars. It looked like
a giant arm.
In the future, we will have even more robots. They will do things that we can’t do. Or they will
do things that we don’t want to do. Or they will do things that are too dangerous for us. Robots
will help us fight fires. They will help us fight wars. They will help us fight sicknesses. They will
help us discover things.
They will help make beƩ er life.
🌳 The Boy and a Tree
🌳 The Boy and a Tree
A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come andplay around it everyday. He climbed to the treetop, ate the apples, took a napunder the shadow.. he loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him. Timewent by.. the little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the treeevery day.
One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad. ‘Come and play withme’ the tree asked the boy. ‘I am no longer a kid, I do not play around treesany more’ the boy replied. ‘I want toys. I need money to buy them.’ ‘Sorry, butI do not have money.. but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you willhave money.’ The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree andleft happily. The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree wassad.
One day, the boy who now turned into a man returned and the tree was excited‘Come and play with me’ the tree said. ‘I do not have time to play. I have towork for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?” Sorry, but Ido not have any house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house.’ Sothe man cut all the branches of the tree and left happily. The tree was glad tosee him happy but the man never came back since then. The tree was again lonelyand sad.
One hot summer day, the man returned and the tree was delighted. ‘Come andplay with me!’ the tree said. ‘I am getting old. I want to go sailing to relaxmyself. Can you give me a boat?’ said the man. ‘Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy.’ So the man cut the tree trunk to make aboat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.
Finally, the man returned after many years. ‘Sorry, my boy. But I do not haveanything for you anymore. No more apples for you’ the tree said. ‘No problem, Ido not have any teeth to bite’ the man replied. ‘No more trunk for you to climbon’ the tree said. ‘I am too old for that now’ the man said. ‘I really cannotgive you anything.. the only thing left is my dying roots’ the tree said withtears. ‘I do not need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all theseyears’ the man replied. ‘Good! Old tree roots are the best place to lean on andrest, Come, come sit down with me and rest.’ The man sat down and the tree wasglad and smiled with tears..
Moral: The tree is like our parents. When we were young, we loved to play with our Mum and Dad.. When we grow up, we leave them.. only come to them when we need something or when we are in trouble. No matter what, parents will always be there and give everything they could just to make you happy. You may think the boy is cruel to the tree, but that is how all of us treat our parents. We take them for granted we don’t appreciate all they do for us until it’s too late.
