Sister Adopted by Sister gets best birthday ever thanks to internet.

1. Chloe Sexton and Charlotte Joy are living a life similar to the tale in the movie Lilo & Stitch — two sisters taking on the world by themselves. No wonder it’s their favorite film. After losing their mom to cancer, Chloe, 28, adopted Charlotte, 8, to raise her. When that happened, Charlotte was about to turn eight. It was not only going to be her first birthday party ever, but first birthday without their mother.
2. Chloe often shares their family journey online, and posted a video of her frustration while trying to give Charlotte a party she would never forget. The plea went viral, and her community rallied together around the sisters to help. They decorated the house from top to bottom. They brought a parade of presents. They even managed to include snakes and horses.

3. The kindness didn’t stop there. Charlotte and Chloe’s mom donated her body to science, so they haven’t had a proper funeral yet. A Go Fund Me account was created to help the sisters honor their mom. The account ended up raising almost double of what the goal set. Chloe plans to give the extra money donated to them for brain cancer research.
4. The sisters were overwhelmed with gratitude of the kindness of these strangers and friends to help make memories that will last a lifetime. As for the sisters, they will continue to pass along their mom’s legacy every day.

5. “It's not harder to raise her because my mom is gone. It's so much better to have her to raise because my mom is gone. If I'd never had Charlotte as a little sister, 20 years younger than me, it would just be me. And that would be it,” says Chloe. “And I would literally have no family at all, but because of her, I still have something of my mom. And that is one of the most meaningful things in the world to me.”
6. In other words, she believes her family’s unity can overcome any obstacle, and family doesn’t get left behind, just like in Lilo & Stitch.
