A Story
May BE a STORY πββοΈ
I was sitting in Starbucks, waiting to meet my consultant and I saw this attractive lady, walking pass me towards the counter, ordered her drink, collected and went to an empty table. She took out her notebook and reference book and began studying. I watched her for a couple of minutes, contemplating whether to talk to her or not. She was sitting a few tables across me. As lunch time approaches, more and more people started filling up the place.
I took a deep breath, grabbed my cup and walked towards an empty table next to her. β Excuse me, could you help me keep the table, I want to get another cup of coffee.β I said and she looked up and nodded.
I used the chance to head to the toilet to freshen up and went back to order 2 cappuccinos. 1 for each of us. After I collected the drinks, I went to her table and gave her a cup of coffee. She smiled and said thank you. That was a good start. I sit down and talked to her. I looked at her notes and itβs biology related. Turns out sheβs a doctor and is now taking external exams. More chit chatting and turns out we graduated from the same university, have similar hobbies as well. We clicked and chatted for 5 hours.
I asked her to join me for dinner but she declined as she will be taking dinner with her parents. We exchanged Facebook and became friends.
The lesson here is to be brave and just walk up and talk to him/her. Youβll never know where it leads to. Better an oops than a what if.πββοΈ
