Claire shook her head and looked away from Adam's intense gaze. He had said something that was both romantic and terrifying at the same time. 'I will wait for you until the day I can forget you or until the day you realize you can't forget me,' he said.
Claire's heart pounded in her chest. She wanted to believe him, but she was afraid of what that meant. She felt a wave of guilt wash over her. Adam was so devoted and she wasn't sure she could ever truly love him the way he deserved.
She shook her head and replied, 'That's a dangerous game you're playing. What if neither of those days ever come?'
Adam smiled sadly and said, 'Then I will wait for you forever.'
Claire felt a lump in her throat. She knew she could never make Adam a promise like that, but she also knew that he meant every word. He would wait, no matter how long it took.
She looked away, unable to face him. She was too ashamed of her own inability to return his love. Tears welled up in her eyes and she quickly turned and ran away, not wanting Adam to see her cry.
She knew she had broken his heart, but she couldn't stay and watch him wait for her forever. She had to leave before she did any more damage.
Adam watched her go, his heart heavy in his chest. He had been so sure she was the one, but it seemed like they were just destined to be apart. He sighed, knowing he had to accept that this was how things were meant to be.
He took a deep breath and whispered, 'I love you, Claire. I will wait for you forever, if that's what it takes.'
Hannah: This is insane!
John: What's insane?
Hannah: This relationship. It's like an emotional roller coaster ride. One minute I'm up, the next minute I'm down.
John: Yeah, relationships can be like that sometimes.
Hannah: But why does it have to be so hard? I feel like I'm on this constant roller coaster ride of emotions.
John: I know it can be difficult, but that's just part of being in a relationship. You have to be willing to take the highs and lows.
Hannah: I know, I just wish it wasn't so unpredictable.
John: I know, but that's the beauty of relationships. You never quite know what to expect.
Fade in on a bedroom. It is dark and empty, with a few pieces of furniture scattered around. There is a single bed in the corner, and a desk in the opposite corner.
We see a figure, hunched over and sobbing, sitting on the bed.
We hear their sobs echoing around the room.
We slowly zoom in closer, to reveal that it is a young woman.
We hear her voice, muffled through her tears.
WOMAN
(sobbing)
He said he loved me…but he left. How could he do this to me?
We see her face, red and puffy from crying.
The camera pans around the room, to show us the photographs and mementos that the woman has of her and her now ex-boyfriend.
We hear her voice again.
WOMAN
(sobbing)
How could he just leave me like this?
The camera slowly zooms out, until we are back to seeing the woman from before, still crying on the bed.
We hear a soft, somber music playing in the background.
We fade out.
What are your thoughts on how to handle loving someone ?
